Illinois State goes for its third straight win on Saturday afternoon when it visits Northern Iowa
The Illinois State Redbirds battle the Northern Iowa Panthers on Saturday afternoon looking to extend their two-game winning streak. They now sit at 6-3 overall and 3-2 in the conference. Last week they shook off a slow first half to get a big 23-16 win over Youngstown State. They led just 9-2 at halftime over the Penguins, but would score 14 points in the third quarter to take control of the game. Tommy Rittenhouse was efficient at quarterback for the the Redbirds as he went 15-19 for 153 yards and two touchdowns in the win. Wenkers Wright was great on the ground also as he rushed for 104 yards on just 10 carries. Daniel Sobkowicz was Rittenhouse top target as he caught four passes for 81 yards.

The Panthers will be looking to slow down the Redbirds offense as they try and finally snap their long losing streak.
The Panthers come into Saturday on a seven-game losing streak after they won their first two games of the season.
They have struggled on defense as they have given up at least 31 points in every loss and has scored 19 or fewer points in all but one game.
The offense needs to step up, but the defense is making it hard for them to stay in games. They will need to find a way to be better on Saturday if they want any shot at upsetting the Redbirds.
