Michigan hits the road on Saturday afternoon to take on Big Ten rival Illinois
The Michigan Wolverines play their second straight game on the road on Saturday afternoon against the Illinois Fighting Illini. The first road game did not go well for the Wolverines as they went to Washington two weeks ago and lost to the Huskies 27-17. The Wolverines had opened the year 4-1 at home, but struggled in their first road game. The Wolverines did turn to quarterback Jack Tuttle against the Huskies and he gave them a spark, but he made two costly turnovers late that cost them the game. Tuttle looks to be the one getting the start on Saturday, but they will look to continue to lean on the running game to beat the Fighting Illini. Kalel Mullings has led the way on the ground as he has rushed for 589 yards and six touchdowns. Donovan Edwards has also been good as he has gone for 353 yards and three touchdowns on the season.

The Fighting Illini are going to have to prove they can stop the running game a week after they gave up 239 yards on the ground to Purdue.
The Fighting Illini had trouble to stop the run and gave up 40 points in the second half to the Boilermakers, but still found a way to get the win in overtime. They led 27-3 early in the second half and by 12 with just 5:05 left, but gave it all away and needed a field goal as time expired just to send it to overtime. They then survived a two-point opportunity by the Boilermakers in overtime to move to 5-1 overall and 2-1 in the Big Ten.
The Fighting Illini have been led by Luke Altmyer at quarterback as he has thrown for 1,426 yards and 14 touchdowns.
