Bill O’Brien’s Boston College team looks to bounce back from its first loss of the year when Michigan State visits Chestnut Hill on Saturday night.
There’s been a lot of local and national hype around this year’s Boston College (2-1, 1-0 ACC) football team, ever since the Eagles upset Florida State in Tallahassee in the season opener. Last week BC faced its toughest test yet, on the road against No. 6 Missouri. While they didn’t win, the Eagles put up a competitive showing, taking an early lead before losing 27-21. The encouraging loss has fans exciting about the O’Brien era moving forward, and about this week’s game at home in primetime against undefeated Michigan State (3-0, 1-0 Big Ten).

Michigan State has progressively gotten better through its first three games of this season. The Spartans started the year by holding off Florida Atlantic 16-10 in East Lansing, then went on the road and beat Maryland 27-24 opening conference play on the road. Last week the Spartans faced FCS Prairie View and came away with a 40-0 shutout win.
This will be the sixth meeting all time between Boston College and Michigan State, and the first since 2007 when the two schools met in the Citrus Bowl – Boston College won that game 24-21. Michigan State won the last regular season meeting, which was held in East Lansing in 1995. That is the Spartans’ only win of the series to date.
Kickoff from Alumni Stadium on Saturday is set for 8:00 p.m. ET. Coverage of the game can be found on the ACC Network.
