Nicholas Vattiato and Middle Tennessee State will take the field against Jaxson Dart and No. 6 Ole Miss on Saturday afternoon.
Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders will head on the road in the second week of college football to take on the No. 6 ranked team in the country, Ole Miss, at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi, on Saturday afternoon. The Rebels came away with a win in the team’s first week beating Furman handily 76-0 at home. Heisman trophy candidate Jaxson Dart threw for 418 yards and five touchdowns while four different players recorded more than six carries on the ground. Of those four, Domonique Thomas led the way with 53 yards, but it was Matt Jones who had the two touchdowns. Dart’s favorite receiver was Tre Harris who finished with eight receptions for 179 yards and two touchdowns. Cayden Lee, Caden Prieskorn, Antwane Wells Jr., and Dae’Quan Wright all had receiving touchdowns as well.

The Blue Raiders were also victors in their first game of the season last week beating Tennessee Tech 32-25. Despite the close score, it wasn’t really a game as MTSU went up 21-5 at the half. Nicholas Vattiato threw for 210 yards and a touchdown with an interception on 20 completions with a 38.5 QBR.
Omari Kelly and Myles Butler both had four receptions in the game. Kelly had 47 yards while Butler had 43 yards and a touchdown. Frank Peasant and Jaiden Credle both had 10 carries on the ground as well with the former finishing with 49 yards and two touchdowns and the latter 35 yards and a touchdown.
