Montana will travel on the road in Week 10 of the college football season to take on Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California, on Saturday afternoon at Mustang Memorial Field. The Grizzlies are 6-2 overall this season and the No. 3 team in the Big Sky Conference with a 3-1 record against conference teams. They beat Missouri State to open the season before losing their first game on the road against North Dakota by just three points. They dominated Morehead State and Western Carolina before starting conference play. They opened Big Sky play with a three-point win over Eastern Washington before losing their only conference game in overtime against Weber State at home, 55-48. They have since won two games against Northern Arizona and Northern Colorado. Logan Fife, the Fresno State transfer, has 1,190 yards and nine touchdowns this year with zero interceptions. Eli Gillman has dominated the rushing attack with 749 yards and 11 touchdowns.

The Mustangs are 2-5 overall this season and just 1-3 against Big Sky teams. Their only two wins this season came against Western Oregon at home, 31-14, and in the conference against Northern Colorado, 28-7. They have lost to Idaho State, UC Davis, and Idaho in the Big Sky this season.

Sophomore quarterback Bo Kelly leads the team under center. The 6-foot-0 starter has thrown for 1,115 yards and six touchdowns with six interceptions. His favorite target this season has been receiver Giancarlo Woods. The senior has 30 receptions for 415 yards and three touchdowns averaging 13.8 yards per reception.
