No. 12 Ole Miss heads to Columbia, SC to take on South Carolina coming off its first loss of the season. Ole Miss are the -9 favorites even on the road this afternoon even though the Gamecocks have only lost one game this season against a very stout LSU team by three points. South Carolina bounced back in a huge way last week to avenge its loss against the Tigers. The Gamecocks beat up Akron in a big way going off winning 50-7. Robby Ashford was a huge asset for South Carolina after starting QB LaNorris Sellers sustained an ankle injury in the game against LSU. Ashford threw for two touchdowns and scored another with a 36-yard rushing touchdown. The Gamecocks’ defense was even better holding the Zips to just 154 yards and one score compared South Carolina’s 549. This is likely to be another offensive slugfest with Ole Miss

Ole Miss is coming off a relatively slow offensive game for them coming off a big upset losing 20-17 at home against Kentucky. It was the first loss of the season for Ole Miss who was ranked No. 6 going into the game. It was Kentucky’s first win in Oxford, MS since 1978. The win came after the Wildcats scored a late touchdown with less than three minutes to go and the Rebels missed a field goal in the final minute of the game that could have tied it all up. Ole Miss is the better team especially if Sellers isn’t able to return for the second straight week. The Gamecocks have listed as questionable to return.
