Meanwhile, running back Ashton Jeanty is trying to close his case for the Heisman Trophy on a high note in the final game of the regular season.

Heading into this week, Boise State is ranked 11th in the College Football Playoff. That’s good enough for an automatic bid, but perhaps more importantly they’re among the top four conference leaders. Assuming the Broncos beat whoever they play in the Mountain West Championship next week (that opponent will be determined this week), that positions them to have a first round bye. However, style points could come into play with Big 12 leader No. 16 Arizona State just four spots back.

As for Jeanty, he remains on a historic pace. He leads the nation with 2,062 yards at a clip of 7.5 yards per carry through 11 games, and also has a nation-best 27 touchdowns. Last week Jeanty had 169 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries.

Oregon State comes in looking to play spoiler after a big game last week. The Beavers won the lone Pac-12 game of the year this year, beating Washington State 41-38 in Corvallis.
