Two of the four undefeated teams in the ACC hit the field on Saturday night when the Pitt Panthers take on the SMU Mustangs. The Panthers are also undefeated overall as they come into Saturday 7-0 on the season. It hasn’t always been pretty for the Panthers as three of their seven wins have come by four points or less, but they have found ways to win every game and are making a push for the top of the ACC. The Panthers are going to get tested over the next three weeks as they have a good SMU team on Saturday before home games with Virginia and No. 11 Clemson. They control their own destiny, but it is going to a tough road for them to make the SEC Championship game.

The Mustangs have a much easier road as they do not have Clemson or Miami on their schedule, but they have to beat the Panthers on Saturday night.

They got tripped up by BYU in their third game, but have looked good since in winning five in a row.

They did have a tough time getting by Duke last week, but they survived with a 28-27 overtime victory.

The Mustangs have been led by quarterback Kevin Jennings who has thrown for 1,594 yards and 10 touchdowns. Brashard Smith has been the team’s leading rusher as he has accumulated 745 yards on the ground and nine touchdowns.
