With both teams looking to get back on track in a matchup at Reser Stadium this weekend, Oregon State hosts San Jose State in Corvallis on Saturday afternoon. After falling in a lopsided loss to California last week, Oregon State has dropped three straight games. The Beavers are now 4-4 overall with a 3-2 home record. San Jose State, on the other hand, couldn’t make it back-to-back wins when it fell to Fresno State last week. The Spartans are now 5-3 overall with a 1-3 record on the road and a 3-2 mark in conference play. Oregon State has won five consecutive matchups against San Jose State, including a 42-17 win last season.

Ben Gulbranson threw for 131 yards while Anthony Hankerson was held to 49 rushing yards on 16 carries in the loss. Cal out-gained the Beavers with 364 total yards of offense for the Golden Bears compared to 140 yards of offense for Oregon State.
As for San Jose State, the Spartans couldn’t hold an early lead in a 33-10 loss to Fresno State last week on the road. Fresno State scored 17 points in the second quarter to build its lead after the Spartans led 7-3 following the first quarter. Nick Nash was the star for San Jose State, finishing the game with nine catches for 91 yards and a touchdown.
