With the Longhorns in the race for a College Football Playoff bid this seaso, No. 3 Texas heads to Fayetteville to face conference foe Arkansas at Razorback Stadium on Saturday. After opening the season a perfect 6-0, Texas has rebounded from its first loss of the season to Gerogia with back-to-back conference wins over Vanderbilt and Florida. The Longhorns are now 8-1 overall with a 4-1 record in conference play and have yet to lose on the road this season (2-0). Arkansas, on the other hand, has struggled to rattled off multiple wins in a row with a 5-4 overall record and an even 3-3 mark in SEC play. This is the sixth matchup between these two teams in the series history and the first since the 2021 season, a 40-21 victory for Arkansas.

Most recently, Texas cruised to a 49-17 victory over Florida after opening up a 35-0 lead in the first half in Austin last week. Quinn Ewers had a career-high five passing touchdowns in the win to go along with 333 passing yards. Matthew Golden caught two touchdow passes as Ewers’s top target. 

As for Arkansas, the Razorbacks couldn’t keep pace with high-powered Ole Miss in a 63-31 loss at home last week. Arkansas remains one win away from clinching bowl eligibility with three games remaining this season.
