Michigan welcomes Texas to the Big House on Saturday afternoon for the biggest non-conference game of the day

The defending National Champion Michigan Wolverines host the Texas Longhorns in a huge non-conference game on Saturday afternoon. The Wolverines and Longhorns almost met in the National Championship game, but Texas fell to Washington in the semifinal. The Wolverines would go to beat the Huskies to claim their first title since 1997. The Wolverines are now looking to repeat, but it is going to be easy as they have a tough schedule starting with the game against the Longhorns. The Wolverines won last Saturday against Fresno State, but it was anything but dominant. The defense looked great again, but the offense struggled to get anything going in the 30-10 win. They led just 16-10 in the fourth quarter, but came right back to score a touchdown and then got an 86-yard pick-six from star cornerback Will Johnson to put the game away.

The Longhorns, on the other hand, looked great in beating Colorado State last weekend. Quinn Ewers played well as he went 20-27 for 260 yards and three touchdowns. He did throw an interception for his only blemish of the day.

Arch Manning even got some time in the blowout and went 5-6 for 95 yards and his first career touchdown pass.

The defense was also dominant as they held the Rams to just 192 yards and forced two turnovers. They allowed just 74 yards through the air which is where the Wolverines had trouble last weekend.

This is arguably the best non-conference game of the season and is an early measuring stick for how good these two teams will be this year.
