Virginia spring practices wrap up on Saturday with the Cavaliers’ Spring Game.

Spring football practices for Virginia come to a close this Saturday afternoon, with the Cavaliers’ annual spring game. The team will head inside Scott Stadium in front of fans for an intersquad scrimmage. Virginia is working to continue to build up entering their fourth season under Tony Elliott. The Cavaliers went 5-7 last year after winning three games in each of the first two years under Elliott. Offensive coordinator Desmond Kitchings and defensive coordinator John Rudzinski also return, having held their positions since Elliott was hired ahead of the 2022 season.

One of the stories of this spring for the Hoos has been wide receiver Trell Harris. Harris showed promise early on in 2024 after transferring from Kent State, but then was derailed by a knee injury that cost him most of his season. In four games he caught 15 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns. This spring he’s started to get back on track, as he looks to compete in a crowded wide receiver room that added multiple players in the portal.

The offensive line is another focus for the Cavaliers this spring. There are multiple transfers set to compete for starting jobs up front, including Brady Wilson from UAB, Kevin Wigenton II from Illinois, and Tyshawn Wyatt from in-state James Madison.

Virginia will also be looking for a new quarterback after Anthony Colandrea transferred to UNLV. Redshirt senior quarterback Tony Muskett is back after appearing in eight games as a backup last year.
