Johnathan Bennett and The Citadel will take the field against Cade Klubnik and the No. 17-ranked Clemson on Saturday.

The Citadel will travel to South Carolina on Saturday afternoon in Week 13 of the college football season. In South Carolina, they will take on the No. 17 ranked team in the nation, Clemson, at the Memorial Stadium. The Tigers are 8-2 overall this season and 7-1 against Atlantic Coast Conference teams. They lost in the first game of the season to the previously ranked No. 1 Georgia by 31 points after starting the year as the No. 14 ranked team in the country. They opened up conference play with a huge, 59-35 win against NC State in Week 3.

They have since taken down Stanford, Florida State, Wake Forest, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Pitt in the conference. Their only loss to an ACC team came against Louisville when they were the No. 11-ranked team. Cade Klubnik leads the team under center this season. He has thrown for 2,563 yards and 26 touchdowns with only four interceptions. He also has 341 yards on the ground with an additional five scores.

The Bulldogs are 5-6 overall this season and are 3-5 against teams from the Southern Conference. They opened up the season with a close, one-point road win over Charleston Southern. They would go on to lose to SC State, Mercer, ETSU, Furman, and Western Carolina, all in the next seven weeks. After starting the season 2-5, they have since won three games of their last four games heading into this week.

They took down VMI, Samford, and most recently, Wofford in that stretch while only losing to Chattanooga. Senior quarterback Johnathan Bennett leads the team under center with 1,636 yards on 122 completions for eight scores and seven interceptions. He also leads the team in rushing with 503 yards on the ground and four touchdowns.
