Pitt looks to bounce back from its first loss of the season when it hosts Virginia on Saturday night
The Pitt Panthers host the Virginia Cavaliers on Saturday night in an ACC battle. The Panthers come into Saturday looking to bounce back after suffering its first loss of the season. The Panthers had won their first seven games, but fell to No. 20 SMU last weekend 48-25. They were overwhelmed by the Mustangs in the second quarter as they gave up 24 points and they couldn’t overcome the deficit. The loss dropped them to 7-1 overall and 3-1 in the ACC. Despite the loss they are still tied with Clemson in the loss column in the ACC Standings and are a game back of both Miami and SMU. They will need help to make the conference championship game as they are going to need to win out and have some teams lose. First, though, they need to take care of a Virginia team that has lost three straight.

The Cavaliers got off to a host start to the season as they won four of their first five games, but have struggled over the last three games in losses to Louisville, Clemson and North Carolina.
They now sit at 4-4 on the season and 2-3 in the ACC. They have a tough schedule to end the season as three of their last four games are on the road and three of them are against ranked opponents.
They have three opportunities in a row to pull off a big upset and they will try and start that off with a win over Pitt on Saturday night.
