Washington State looks to finish out the season on a high note when they host Wyoming on Saturday night.

Both Wyoming and Washington State will try to avoid losing three games in a row tonight in this regular season finale in Pullman, WA. The big difference is that the Cougars are 8-3 and playing at home while the Cowboys are just 2-9 and losing four of their last five games. The tough part for the Cougars these last two games is that they lost by a combined six points. The good news for Washington State is that they are headed back home after back-to-back road games and the Cougars are big favorites with a -17 line in their favor. Washington State is coming off a 41-38 shootout loss against Oregon State, its last remaining partner in the Pac-12. Technically the Beavers won the Pac-12 with the win and ended a five-game losing streak. It was a big upset as Washington State was ranked No. 25 at the time. The game was like those pirate ship amusement park rides it went back and forth so much. WSU scored two touchdowns within a minute of each other in the fourth quarter highlighted by a Taariq Al-Uqdah 29-yard interception return for a touchdown to go up 38-31. But the Cougars wouldn’t score again with Oregon State winning on a 55-yard field goal with just seconds left. This should be a nice tune-up game for the Cougars against Wyoming before their bowl appearance.

Wyoming is also coming off a close loss but it was against a very formidable opponent in Boise State. The Cowboys lost to the No. 12 Broncos 17-13 with heisman candidate Ashton Jeanty still leading the way for Boise State rushing for 169 yards and a touchdown. Wyoming got within a field goal in the fourth quarter but the Cowboys couldn’t score again. Keeping it so close against a ranked opponent should give some hope to Wyoming to finish out the season strong.
