Abilene Christian takes on No. 15 Baylor on Monday night as the Wildcats look to extend their win streak to three games with an upset.

On Monday evening, the Abilene Christian Wildcats will look to pull off an upset against Texas foe No. 15 Baylor as the teams meet in non-conference play at Foster Pavilion in Waco. Abilene Christian brings a record of 6-3 into Monday’s game with the most recent game being a 78-70 win over New Mexico State on Wednesday. The Wildcats trailed the Aggies by three at half, but a monster second half found the team winning by eight. Hunter Jack Madden went five-for-eight from three point range to finish with a game-high 24 points. Quion Williams also made it into 20-point range with an even 20 while Leionardo Bettiol rounded out the double digit scorers with 16 points on the day. The team finished the night shooting 51 percent from the field, 43 percent from long range and 71 percent from the line.

The Bears come into their home game with a record of 5-3 so far, but have played top-notch competition with five ranked games so far. The team’s last game was played against the defending nation champion No. 25 UConn Huskies and resulted in a tough 76-72 loss on the road. Baylor took a one-point lead into halftime, but UConn edged the Bears out in the second half to earn the win.

Robert O. Wright III came off the bench to lead the Bears’ offense, scoring a game-high 22 points. Josh Ojianwuna dominated on the boards, pulling down 14 rebounds in the loss, 10 of which were defensive. The team missed seven free thrown which proved to be crucial in its third ranked loss of the year.

Monday’s game will be the first-ever meeting between Abilene Christian and Baylor. Tune in to see if the Wildcats can pull off the upset in the final game of their six-game road trip.
