Ethan Taylor and No. 11 seed Air Force will take on Dedan Thomas Jr. and No. 6 seed UNLV in the MWC Tournament first round on Wednesday.

No. 11-seeded Air Force will take on No. 6-seeded UNLV at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada on Wednesday night for the first round of the Mountain West Championship tournament. The UNLV Rebels finished their season with a 17-14 overall record and an 11-9 record against teams in the Mountain West Conference. They closed out their season with a 74-67 win against San Diego State and a loss to the conference’s No. 1 seed, New Mexico, last Friday by 14 points.

Dedan Thomas Jr will be key to UNLV’s tournament run. He is averaging 15.6 points and 4.7 assists per game as the leader of the team. Teaming up with him in the backcourt, Jaden Henley averages 12.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game. The frontcourt is headlined by Jeremiah Cherry, who averages 10.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.

The No. 11 and last-seeded Air Force Falcons finished 4-27 overall this season and won just one game in the conference this season against Fresno State at the end of February. They ended their regular season with a loss by 23 points to Boise State at home followed by a road loss in the season finalé against Utah State by 40 points.

Ethan Taylor leads Air Force in scoring this season, averaging 13.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game as a senior guard. The frontcourt duo of Luke Kearney and Wesley Celichowski have helped this team as well.
