Chad Moodie and Alabama A&M will take the court against TJ Madlock and Alabama State on Saturday afternoon.

Alabama A&M will travel in-state to Montgomery this weekend in a men’s college basketball battle against two Southwestern Athletic Conference teams. On Saturday, it will face Alabama State at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome. The Alabama State Hornets are 13-15 overall this season, heading into the final month of the regular season. With just three games left on their schedule, they are 9-6 against teams in the SWAC. They are tied with Florida A&M and one game behind Bethune-Cookman and Texas Southern.

After winning four straight games and staring down a fifth heading into their last game of February, they couldn’t pull out a home win against Bethune-Cookman, losing by two points on Monday. TJ Madlock led the Alabama State in scoring in the loss with 23 points, tying a game high. Madlock also had eight rebounds while shooting 8-for-14 from the floor.

The Alabama A&M Bulldogs are under the .500 mark more than their opponent with a 10-18 record this season. They are 6-9 against teams in the conference, just a half-game back from Grambling and two games over Prairie View. They are 7.5 games behind the conference leader, and three games separate them and their opponent tonight.

They also lost to Bethune-Cookman in the last seven days, last weekend, by four points. That led them to be able to end February with a win, returning home and beating Florida A&M by 11 points on Monday. Dylan Mclean led the team with 19 points on 5-of-10 shooting, while Chad Moodie led the team in rebounding and assists.
