No. 5 Alabama makes its first SEC road trip of the season as it visits South Carolina on Wednesday night in college basketball.

No. 5 Alabama (12-2) takes a six-game winning streak into Colonial Life Arena on Wednesday night as it plays its first SEC road game of the season at South Carolina (10-4). The Crimson Tide are 2-1 in true road games thus far and opened its SEC slate with a win on Saturday. The Gamecocks, meanwhile, are 8-1 in their gym and took a thumping on the road on Saturday in their conference opener. Alabama is coming off the program’s first Final Four trip, while South Carolina played in the NCAA tournament last spring for the first time since its Final Four run in 2017.

The Tide gave visiting Oklahoma, then ranked No. 12, a rude welcome to SEC basketball on Saturday in a 107-79 blowout. Mark Sears finished with 22 points and 10 assists, Labaron Philon added 16 points and Grant Nelson went for 12 points and 11 rebounds. Sears scores 18.3 points per game and Nelson averages 13.1 points and 8.8 rebounds.

The Gamecocks shot just 29.1 percent on Saturday and only made two of their 19 three-point tries in an 85-50 loss at then-No. 17 Mississippi State. Zachary Davis came off the bench for 22 points and Collin Murray-Boyles finished with 10 rebounds. Murray-Boyles averages 15.9 points and 9.4 boards, while Jamarii Thomas nets 12.1 points per game.

Alabama is 35-16 all-time in the series and has won the last nine meetings with South Carolina, including a 74-47 win at home on Jan. 9. Nate Oats is 129-56 in his sixth season coaching the Crimson Tide, while Lamont Paris has a 47-33 mark in his third year leading the Gamecocks.
