A pair of teams on four-game winning streaks collide on Tuesday night at the Marriott Center in Provo, Utah, when Big 12 Conference co-leader Arizona (15-6) visits BYU (15-6). The Wildcats are 9-1 in their first run through the conference, tied with Houston atop the league, while the Cougars have improved to 6-4 with their recent hot stretch and share fifth place with Baylor and Kansas. Arizona has played in the last three NCAA tournaments and was a Sweet Sixteen club last spring, while BYU also comes off an appearance in last year’s Big Dance.

Arizona comes off a contentious 81-72 win at archrival Arizona State on Saturday, as Caleb Love finished with 27 points and seven assists. Love’s free throws with 7:18 remaining gave the Wildcats the lead for good, sparking a 6-0 burst. Jaden Bradley added 14 points and Carter Bryant had 10 rebounds. Love leads the team at 16.2 points per game, with Bradley netting 11.4 points a night and Tobe Awaka averaging 7.6 points and 7.8 boards.

Richie Saunders hit a three-pointer off a turnover to give the Cougars the lead with 4:04 remaining and they held on for an 81-75 road win at UCF on Friday. Saunders finished with 22 points and Mawot Mag tossed in 19. Saunders scored 15.4 points per game, with Egor Demin averaging 10.7 points and 5.9 assists and Keba Keita posting 6.4 points and 8.1 rebounds per outing.

The Wildcats are 20-19 all-time against BYU, but the teams haven’t met since Dec. 11, 2010 and the Cougars have won the last two meetings. It’s Arizona’s first visit to Provo since Nov. 28, 1998.
