Arizona State will travel to Lubbock, Texas, in the middle of this week in a battle between two Big 12 Conference teams. On Wednesday, they will face-off against the No. 12 ranked men’s college basketball team in the country, Texas Tech, at the United Supermarkets Arena. The Texas Tech Red Raiders are 18-5 overall this season and have risen to 9-3 against teams in the Big 12 Conference. They are a game over the No. 10 ranked Iowa State and two games under the No. 13 ranked Arizona. They are also 2.5 games under the conference-leading No. 6 ranked Houston.

Texas Tech opened up the month with a massive upset win on the road against Houston by one point in an overtime thriller. Chance McMillian led the team with a game-high performance of 23 points. In the middle of last week, they went home and took that momentum into a 14-point win over Baylor. Last weekend, they lost on the road by nine points against Caleb Love and Arizona.

The Arizona State Sun Devils are 12-11 overall this season. After finishing the non-conference schedule with a 9-2 record, they have since gone just 3-9 against teams in the Big 12 Conference. They are three games over last-placed Colorado, who is winless at 0-12 in the conference. They are also one game behind Oklahoma State.

They lost all three games in February thus far. They lost to Arizona by nine points at home, followed by Kansas State by one point at home, and last weekend on the road against Oklahoma State by 13 points. BJ Freeman leads the team in scoring this season, averaging 12.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game.
