Adou Thiero and Arkansas will take the court against Tre Johnson and Texas in an SEC rivalry in college basketball on Wednesday night.

Arkansas will travel to Austin in the middle of this week in a men’s college basketball battle between two SEC teams. On Wednesday, Arkansas will face-off against Texas at the Moody Center. The Texas Longhorns are 15-7 overall this season heading into this week. They have fallen, however, just under the .500 mark against conference teams at just 4-5 in the SEC. They are tied with No. 22 Mississippi State and a half-game behind No. 14 Kentucky and Vanderbilt. They are also 4.5 games behind the conference-leading No. 1 Auburn.

They ended January with a tough 72-69 road loss against former No. 23-ranked Ole Miss. In the three-point loss, Tre Johnson, the stellar freshman, led Texas with 22 points on 6-of-16 shooing in a game-high performance. They bounced back, opening February with an 89-58 win against LSU last weekend. Johnson led the team once again with 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting.

The Arkansas Razorbacks will come into this week with a 13-8 overall record and a win over the weekend in arguably their biggest game of the season. They are still just 2-6 against teams in the conference, but it feels better now that they have taken down John Calipari’s old team and No. 14 Kentucky.

They went into Lexington and took the court at Rupp Arena, winning 89-79 at the final whistle. Former Kentucky star who came with Calipari to Arkansas, Adou Thiero, dropped a team-high 21 points on 5-of-10 shooting and 10-of-12 from the free throw line. Johnell Davis scored 18 points with five rebounds and six assists. Former Kentucky standout DJ Wagner also had a night with 17 points and eight assists.
