Big 12 play will continue on Tuesday night with a game between Baylor and BYU in men’s college basketball action.

The Baylor Bears will travel to Provo, Utah on Tuesday night for a Big 12 clash against the BYU Cougars at the Marriott Center. The Cougars come into their home match with a spot in eighth place in the Big 12 standings after achieving a record of 4-4 in conference play and an overall record of 13-6 so far. The team has won two games in a row with the most recent being played against Cincinnati which the Cougars won handily in an 80-52 victory in front of a home crowd of 17,000. The BYU offense was led by Richie Saunders who finished the game with 21 points. Egor Demin added an additional 15 points to the scoreboard and Dawson Baker rounded out the double digit scorers with 11 points. Keba Keita handled the rebounding responsibilities by grabbing seven on the night.

The Bears also bring a two game win streak into Tuesday night’s contest with an overall record of 13-6 and a conference record of 5-3 which puts them in sixth place in the league table. On Saturday, the team traveled to Salt Lake City to play Utah, winning 76-61 on the road. Norchad Omier and VJ Edgecombe combined for 43 points in the win with 22 and 21 points, respectively. Omier also led on the boards with 12 rebounds on the night to earn a double-double with six offensive and six defensive rebounds.

Baylor and BYU have met a total of five times in their history and the Bears hold a 4-1 lead in the series. The teams met twice last season and split the results with the Bears earning an 81-72 win in the first game at home and losing 78-71 in the second game in Provo.
