On Saturday evening, Buffalo will take a road trip to the remote campus of St. Bonaventure to take on the Bonnies at the Reilly Center in a non-conference game. The Bulls are currently 5-4 on the season with the most recent game being played against Pitt-Bradford. The team won handily in a 100-65 victory in front of a home crowd of 1000. Anquan Boldin Jr. paced five Bulls to double figures with 19 points while Ryan Sabol scored 18 points and Tyson Dunn finished closely behind with 14 points. Brayden Jackson led the team on the boards with nine rebounds to go along with six points. While the team shot well from the field at 51%, it will need to work on its long range shooting as the Bulls went just 7-for-22 from beyond the arc.

The Bonnies have gotten off to a strong start, one of their best in years, and come into Saturday’s game with a record of 8-1 so far. The team’s only loss came against Utah State in the ESPN NIT Season Tip-Off, losing by just five points in a 72-67 defeat. The Bonnies bounced back, however, and are on a two-game win streak with the most recent being a 64-47 win over Bucknell on Wednesday night.

Chance Moore led the team in scoring with 17 points while Noel Brown added 14 points to the scoreboard and Dasonte Bowen rounded out the double digit scorers with 11 points. Moore and Lajae Jones each pulled down six rebounds to lead on the boards. The team shot 44 percent from the field and 31 percent from beyond the arc in the win.

The last time the Bulls and Bonnies met was last season and the game went in St. Bonaventure’s favor with an 80-65 win. The Bonnies now lead the all-time series 12-5.
