The Houston Cougars welcome the Butler Bulldogs to town on Saturday evening in a big non-conference matchup. The Cougars come into Saturday just 4-3 on the season and looking to bounce back from a 73-70 overtime loss to San Diego State. It was the second time this season that they fell in overtime as they also came up short against No. 9 Alabama in extra time. Their other loss came against No. 11 Auburn back on November 9th. It has been a tough schedule for the Cougars as they have already played three major conference opponents and they are going to get tested again on Saturday against a good Bulldogs team. The Cougars have been led by L.J. Cryer and Emanuel Sharp who are averaging 14.6 and 14.4 points per game respectively. They are the only two players averaging in double figures this season for the Cougars.

The Bulldogs come into Saturday looking to win a seventh straight game and pick up the upset of the Cougars. The Bulldogs were shocked by Austin Peay in their second game of the season, but have since gone on a six-game winning streak including wins over SMU, Northwestern and No. 25 Mississippi State.

The Bulldogs have a rough schedule coming up as four of their next five games are against ranked opponents.

They have been led by Jahmyl Telfort this season as he is scoring a team-best 17.9 points per game.
