BYU will travel to Cincinnati, Ohio, this weekend for a men’s college basketball showdown in the Big 12 Conference. On Saturday, they will face off against Cincinnati at Fifth Third Arena. The Cincinnati Bearcats are 13-9 overall this season. After finishing their non-conference schedule with a 10-1 record, they have since dropped eight games in the Big 12 with only three wins. They are tied with Arizona State and Oklahoma State and sit just 2.5 games over the last-place team in the conference Colorado, who is winless in Big 12 play.

Cincinnati picked up a loss in its first game of the month at home to West Virginia last weekend. Day Day Thomas led the team barely scoring double-digits in the 13-point loss. Earlier this week, the team got back in the win column with a 10-point win over UCF in Florida. Thomas led the group once again with 20 points on 9-of-15 shooting and a team-high six assists in the win.

The BYU Cougars are 15-7 overall this season heading into this weekend. They are 6-5 against teams in the conference which is tied with Baylor and four games behind No. 5 Houston and No. 20 Arizona. They are also 5.5 games ahead of the last-place Colorado in the Big 12. They won their first game of the month last weekend.

They went on the road and beat UCF by six points. In the 81-75 win, Richie Saunders led the team with a game-high 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting. Earlier this week on Tuesday, they lost at home against No. 20 Arizona by 11 points. Egor Demin led the team with 16 points while Saunders had just 11 points on 3-of-8 shooting.
