Charleston and UNC Wilmington, both chasing Towson in the CAA standings, square off Thursday in Wilmington.

UNC Wilmington (20-5) has put together eight consecutive wins and, at 10-2 in the Coastal Athletic Association, is a game behind Towson in the standings. On Thursday, the Seahawks host Charleston (19-6) at Trask Coliseum in Wilmington, North Carolina, looking to complete a season sweep. The Cougars come in with a 9-3 CAA mark and have won their last two games. UNC Wilmington last went to the NCAA tournament in 2017 and won the 2022 College Basketball Invitational in its most recent postseason bid. Charleston played in the last two NCAA tournaments after winning the CAA regular-season and tournament titles.

UNC Wilmington comes off an 81-79 double-overtime win at Drexel on Saturday afternoon. Greedy Williams went coast-to-coast for a game-winning layup at the buzzer. Sean Moore finished with 23 points and 15 rebounds while Khamari McGriff dropped 16. Donovan Newby leads the team at 15.7 points per game, with McGriff posting 11.5 points a night and Moore averaging 8.8 points and a team-high 6.6 boards.

The Cougars also needed extra time on Saturday, beating visiting Elon 88-83 in overtime. Ante Brzovic finished with 27 points and 10 rebounds, scoring six points in OT. Derrin Boyd scored 24 points and Lazar Djokovic also snared 10 boards. Brzovic averages 19.0 points and 8.5 rebounds, Boyd nets 14.3 points per game and CJ Fulton logs 7.9 points and 6.3 assists per contest.

The Seahawks are 20-16 in the series with Charleston and have won the last three meetings, including an 85-83 victory at Charleston on Jan. 23. Tayako Siddle is 99-44 in his fifth season at UNC Wilmington while Chris Mack took over the Cougar program in April after Pat Kelsey left for the head coaching position at Louisville.
