The No. 5-seeded Chattanooga will take the court at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, against the No. 5-seeded Loyola Chicago from a different region in the semifinals of the National Invitational Tournament with a chance at a championship berth on the line. The No. 5-seeded Mocs from the top-right region in the NIT bracket is now 27-9 heading into this game. They opened their tournament run with a first-round game against Middle Tennessee State, 109-103 in three overtimes. Bash Wieland tied the game-high with 31 points on 10-of-19 shooting.

Advancing to the second round, they took on Dayton and won more decisively, 87-72. Honor Huff had the game-high in that one with 26 points on 7-of-12 shooting. Last Tuesday, in the quarterfinals, they met Bradley and won by two points, 67-65. Huff had 21 points and a team-high three assists, while Trey Bonham had 17 points and six rebounds.

The No. 5-seeded Ramblers are 25-11 heading into this semifinal matchup. After losing to VCU in the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Championship, they opened up their NIT run with a matchup against San José State, a game they won by three points, 73-70. Des Watson led the team with 24 points on 8-of-15 shooting in a game-high.

Their second-round game was against San Francisco, which they won by only one point, 77-76. Jayden Dawson had a massive game with 35 points on 14-of-27 shooting. Last Wednesday, they took on Kent State and won by 10 points to advance to this round. In the 72-62 win, Miles Rubin led the team with 18 points on an efficient 8-for-9 shooting.
