Georgetown and Coppin State will play their final non-conference game on Saturday afternoon in Washington D.C.

The Georgetown Hoyas will host the Coppin State Eagles on Saturday afternoon at the Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. as the teams conclude non-conference play ahead of the thick of their respective conference schedules. The Eagles have gotten off to a rough start this season and come into Saturday’s game with a record of 1-12 so far. The team’s only win so far this seas came its last time out with a 68-60 victory over Navy. Toby Nnadozie led the offense with 20 points while three other Eagles joined him in double figures. Jonathan Dunn finished the game with 13 points and Julius Ellerbe III added 11 points to the scoreboard. Both of those men led on the boards with eight rebounds apiece.

The Hoyas are on a three-game win streak, bringing their overall record to 10-2 and their conference record to 2-0 so far. The team’s most recent game was played against Seton Hall and the Hoyas barely made it out with a win, beating the Pirates 61-60 in New Jersey. The team was unable to stop Isaiah Coleman who scored 25 points, the only Pirate in double digits. The Hoyas had three players finish in double figures, led by Thomas Sorber who scored 19 points. Jayen Epps added 15 points and Micah Peavy finished the game with 10 points. Sorber also led the team on the boards with eight rebounds to narrowly miss out on a double-double.

Moving forward, both teams will need to work on their shooting as they each performed well below their averages the last time out. Coppin State and Georgetown have met five times in their history and the Hoyas have won each game. Last year, Georgetown earned a 71-54 victory at home.
