In the 64-59 win, Matas Vokietaitis led the way with 17 points and seven rebounds as the freshman made a statement game. Baba Miller, a junior, had 14 points and four rebounds. Tre Carroll came off the bench and dropped 12 points on 3-of-7 shooting from the field. They overcame just 20% shooting from deep to win.

The No. 4-seeded Green Waves finished their regular season with an 18-13 record overall, but they were 12-6 against teams from the American Athletic Conference, just a game behind UAB and two games ahead of FAU and East Carolina. They closed out the season with a win over UAB by almost 20 points, winning 85-68.

Because they secured a top-four seed, they secured a double bye and will not enter the tournament until the quarterfinal round today. They will rely heavily on the guard/forward duo of Kaleb Banks and Rowan Brumbaugh. Banks is averaging 15.0 points and 6.9 rebounds, while Brumbaugh is averaging 15.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game.
