With the home team trying to snap a three-game losing streak as conference play begins, NC State welcomes ACC rival Florida State to the Lenovo Center in Raleigh on Saturday. Following a strong start to the season for the Wolfpack, NC State has now lost three games in a row to drop to 5-3 overall with a 5-1 home record. Two of the Wolfpack’s three losses have come in neutral site games as NC State returns home to open ACC play. Florida State, on the other hand, suffered its second loss of the season earlier this week, falling to 7-2 overall with a 3-1 record in road games this season. The Seminoles will now also open conference play vs. the Wolfpack, who they topped in a 90-83 win in their last matchup during the 2023-24 season.Â

Most recently, NC State fell in a close loss to Texas during the ACC/SEC Challenge by a final score of 63-59 in Raleigh earlier this week. The game featured 12 lead changes and nine ties, as the Longhorns pulled away late to earn a road win. Dontrez Styles led the Wolfpack with a season-high 17 points while Marcus Hill added 16 points in the loss.
As for Florida State, the Seminoles also fell in the ACC/SEC Challenge to LSU in a 85-75 loss in Baton Rouge on Tuesday night. Junior Malique Ewin put up his first career double-double while tying a career-high with 17 points and 17 rebounds. Jamir Watkins added 15 points in the loss.Â
