Walter Clayton Jr and No. 1 seed Florida will battle Johni Broome and No. 1 seed Auburn in the first Final Four matchup on Saturday night.

On Saturday night, No. 1-seeded Florida from the West Region will take on the No. 1-seeded Auburn from the South Region in the Final Four of the NCAA Men’s Championship Tournament at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The No. 1-seeded Gators are 34-4 overall this season heading into this game. They opened up their NCAA Tournament run in the first weekend with a 95-69 win over Norfolk State and a close 77-75 win over Dan Hurley and No. 8-seeded UConn. Walter Clayton Jr had 23 points in a game-high performance to propel them to the second weekend.

In the Sweet 16, they opened up the weekend with a matchup against No. 4-seed Maryland and took down the stellar freshman Derik Queen with an 87-71 win. In the Elite Eight, they battled No. 3-seed Texas Tech and won 84-79 in a dramatic finish that saw Florida end the game on an 18-4 run led by Thomas Haugh and Clayton Jr, who finished with another game-high of 30 points.

On the other side, the No. 1-seeded Tigers opened their tournament run with an explosive first weekend. They took down No. 16-seeded Alabama State by 20 points, 83-63, and followed it up with a second-round win over No. 8-seeded Creighton by 12 points, 82-70. Tahaad Pettiford led the team in that win with 23 points to move to the second weekend.

Facing off with No. 5 seed Michigan in the Sweet 16, Auburn came away with a 78-65 win led by a 22-point, 16-rebound game from Player of the Year candidate Johni Broome. In the Elite Eight, they faced off with No. 2 seed Michigan State and won by six points despite Broome getting injured early in the second half. Broome still finished with 25 points and 14 rebounds in a game-high performance.
