The No. 2-seeded George Mason will take on the No. 1-seeded VCU in the championship game in the Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament in men’s college basketball at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., on Sunday afternoon. The No. 2-seeded Patriots are 26-7 heading into this game with a 15-3 record against teams in the A-10 in the regular season. As the second seed, they opened up the tournament in the quarterfinal round with a matchup against George Washington. They won that game soundly, 80-65.

George Mason’s win was led by Jalen Haynes, who dropped a game-high 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting. Yesterday, it advanced to face Saint Joseph’s in the semifinal round and won by double-digits again, 74-64. Haynes again scored 22 points on 9-of-15 shooting and had seven rebounds with six assists, leading George Maosn in all three statistics.

The No. 1-seeded Rams are 26-6 overall this season and finished the regular season in conference play with a league-best 15-3 record. They ended tied with George Mason. Heading into the conference tournament, they started with a quarterfinal matchup against St. Bonaventure, where they won by 17 points, 76-59

Jack Clark led the team with 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting, while Max Shulga had six rebounds and a team-high 11 assists with just two points.. In the team’s semifinal matchup, it was able to get the best of Loyola-Chicago, leading for the entire game. They ended up winning 62-55, led by Shugla’s 14 points and four assists.
