They finished tied with VCU for the regular season title and it gave them a bye to the quarterfinals. The Patriots won both meetings with the Revolutionaries this season as they won at home in double-overtime and then won by three again on the road. The Patriots have been led by Darius Maddox and Jalen Haynes this season as they are averaging 13.6 and 13.5 points per game respectively. Haynes is also the team’s top rebounder at 7.2 boards per game.

They moved on to the quarterfinals thanks to an 88-81 win over Fordham on Thursday. It was their second straight win over the Rams.

Trey Autry led the way in the win with 23 points and four rebounds. He is now averaging 10 points per game, which is fourth best on the team.

Rafael Castro is the team’s top scorer at 13.9 points per game, while Gerald Drumgoole Jr. and Darren Buchanan Jr. are also averaging in double figures at 11.3 and 10.9 per game.
