In a Saturday afternoon SEC showdown, the Alabama Crimson Tide will host the Georgia Bulldogs at Coleman Coliseum. Both of these teams are coming into today with some momentum, which should make it an exciting contest. Alabama is once again looking to make a deep run this season and is 18-3 overall to this point. The Crimson Tide have won four in a row entering today and are 9-1 at home this season, which will make them the favorite. In SEC competition thus far, Alabama is 7-1. With a 15-6 record thus far, Georgia is still figuring out how to have success. The Bulldogs have been better of late, winning two in a row entering today, but are still 3-5 in conference play overall. They’re 1-4 on the road this season, so getting a win today would be a huge confidence boost.

Georgia is led by a freshman forward, Asa Newell. With the way he’s playing, he will be a one-and-done talent with the chance to be selected in the lottery this summer in the 2025 NBA Draft. He’s also a good rebounder and disruptive defender. Alabama is one of the deepest teams in the country but is led by point guard Mark Sears, who is averaging 18 points and five rebounds per game. He has a great supporting cast, which will likely be the difference in this contest. 

Following this contest, the Bulldogs will have a few days off before hosting the LSU Tigers on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Crimson Tide’s next contest will be next Saturday against the Arkansas Razorbacks.
