It has been a good start to the season for the Bulldogs and they will look to stay hot against a very good Volunteers team. The Bulldogs have been led by Asa Newell, who is averaging a team-best 15.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. He is one of four guys averaging double figures this season for the Bulldogs.

The Volunteers come into Wednesday looking to win a second straight game after they slipped by Texas on the road on Saturday night.

The win came after they suffered their first loss of the year earlier in the week to Florida. The Volunteers had climbed to No. 1 in the AP Poll, but were whipped by the Gators 73-43 last Tuesday.

They got back in the win column on Saturday with their win over the Longhorns and they now sit at 15-1 overall and 2-1 in the SEC.

The Volunteers have been led by Chaz Lanier, who is averaging a team-best 19.0 points per game. Igor Milicic Jr. is leading the team in rebounding at 8.6 boards per game while also scoring 10.4 points per game.
