VCU overwhelmed Division II for Elizabeth City State 103-58 on Friday night to open a four-game homestand. Phillip Russell dropped 18 points while Terrence Hill Jr. came off the bench for 16 points in 16 minutes. Joe Bamisile scores 17.0 points per game, Max Shulga nets 14.9 points a night and Jack Clark averages 8.0 points and 6.9 rebounds.

The Eagles struggled to score on Saturday night in a 61-47 loss at Drake, shooting 37.8% overall, making just 2-of-15 from behind the arc and turning the ball over 17 times. Eugene Brown III scored 11 points and Dontae Horne knocked in 10. Adante’ Holiman, who didn’t play at Drake, leads the team at 15.9 points per game, Nakavieon White nets 12.8 points per contest and Tyson Brown averages 7.1 points and 5.1 boards.

Georgia Southern leads the all-time series 2-1, with the last meeting an 88-81 win for the Eagles at home on Feb. 19, 1977. Coach Ryan Odom is 30-16 in his second season leading the Rams while Charlie Henry is 14-27 in his second year at Georgia Southern.
