Houston goes for its seventh straight win on Monday night when it visits Texas Tech

The Houston Cougars hit the road on Monday night to take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders. The Cougars come into Monday on a six-game winning streak and they have won 19 of their last 20 games. The hot streak has pushed their record to 23-4 overall and 15-1 in the Big 12. Their lone loss during this stretch came at home to the Red Raiders on the first day of February. The Red Raiders trailed by four at halftime, but battled back to take a five-point lead with 5:41 left. They couldn’t hold onto the lead, though, and lost 82-81 in overtime. Despite that loss the Cougars still have a three-game lead on both the Red Raiders and Arizona in the conference standings. The Cougars have been led by L.J. Cryer who is scoring 15.0 points per game. J’Wan Roberts is the team’s leading rebounder at 6.3 boards per game while also scoring 11.3 points per game.

The Red Raiders will try and slow down the duo as they look to beat the Cougars for a second time this season.

The Red Raiders come into Monday fresh off a 73-51 win over West Virginia on Saturday. The win kept them from losing a second straight game and pushed their record to 21-6 overall and 12-4 in the Big 12.

The Red Raiders have played well this season, but have stumbled lately in losing two of their last five games.

The Red Raiders have been led by JT Toppin who is scoring a team-best 17.3 points per game and grabbing a team-high 9.1 rebounds per game.

Chance McMillan and Darrion Williams have also been great this season as they are averaging 15.1 and 14.9 points per game respectively.
