Kylan Boswell and No. 19 Illinois will take the court at the Breslin Center against Big Ten rival Jaden Akins and No. 12 Michigan State on Sunday.

The No. 19-ranked team in the country, Illinois, will travel to East Lansing, Michigan, for a Big Ten Conference battle on Sunday afternoon. In East Lansing, they will take on the No. 12 ranked team in men’s college basketball, Michigan State, at the Breslin Center. The Illinois Fighting Illini are 13-4 overall this season heading into this weekend. They are also 5-2 against teams in the conference sitting behind No. 20 Michigan and tied with No. 24 Wisconsin. They have only lost one conference game this month against USC by 10 points at home.

They beat former No. 9 Oregon on the road before taking down Washington and Penn State. Earlier this week, they were able to beat Indiana on the road on the back of 22 points from Kylan Boswell. Freshman Kasparas Jakucionis leads Illinois in scoring this season, averaging 16.7 points, 5.4 assists, and 5.4 rebounds per game while shooting 50% from the field.

The Michigan State Spartans have risen to the No. 12 team in the nation on a 15-2 record overall this season. They are the only undefeated team in the conference with a 6-0 record through this weekend. They are perfect this month with road wins over Ohio State by seven points and Northwestern by 10 points.

They also have home wins over Washington by 34 points and Penn Staet by five points, earlier this week. Their only two losses this season came against Memphis and former No. 1-ranked Kansas. Jaden Akins leads Michigan State in scoring this season, averaging 14.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game while shooting 45% from the field.
