Michigan goes for its third win on a row on Sunday afternoon when it welcomes Illinois to town

The Michigan Wolverines look to continue their two-game winning streak on Sunday when they battle the Illinois Fighting Illini. The Wolverines come into Sunday fresh off a come-from-behind win over Rutgers on Thursday night. The Wolverines trailed the Scarlet Knights by 12 points halfway through the second half, but they battled back and then won the game on a long three-pointer by Nimari Burnett as time expired. The win was their second in a row and kept them in a first place tie with Michigan State in the Big Ten standings. This will be the third game of the week for the Wolverines as they beat Nebraska on the road on Monday before their exciting win on Thursday. It is a tough end of the year stretch for the Wolverines as they will host No. 16 Maryland on Wednesday before wrapping up their regular season at No. 8 Michigan State next Sunday. The Wolverines have been led by Vlad Goldin who is scoring 15.9 points per game. Danny Wolf has also been great as he is averaging 12.6 points and a team-best 9.8 rebounds per game.

The duo has been tough to stop and the Fighting Illini are going to have to find a way if they want to come to town and pick up a huge road win.

The Fighting Illini come into Sunday fresh off a 20-point win over Iowa on Tuesday night. The win snapped a three-game losing streak and improved their record to 18-11 overall and 10-8 in the Big Ten.

They had a tough stretch before the win on against the Hawkeyes. They lost to No. 11 Michigan State by 14, No. 11 Wisconsin by 21 and No. 3 Duke by 43. The loss to the Blue Devils was their worst loss in school history.

It doesn’t get any easier over the next two games as they play at Michigan and then have No. 20 Purdue at home.
