Division III basketball play continues on Saturday with a game between Illinois Wesleyan and Carthage. Watch free on Fubo.

The Illinois Wesleyan Titans will travel to Wisconsin on Saturday for a game against the Carthage Firebirds at Tarble Arena. The Firebirds are currently ranked No. 7 in Region VIII and are sitting in second place in the CCIW standings with a conference record of 9-2 and an overall record of 15-5. The team’s most recent game was played against Carroll University on Wednesday night and resulted in an 84-75 victory on the road. Riley Brooks led the Firebirds in scoring with a 21-point performance and was joined in double figures by three of his teammates. Ryan Johnson finished the game with a double-double scoring 13 points and pulling down a game-high 13 rebounds.

The Titans are leading the conference standings with a record of 10-2 in CCIW play and currently hold an overall record of 18-3. On Wednesday, the team traveled to take on North Central and ended up falling in a 72-64 defeat to end an eight-game win streak. The Cardinals took an 11-point lead into halftime and although the Titans outscored them in the second half, it wasn’t enough.

Josh Fridman and Harrison Wilmsen each scored 11 points to lead the Titans offensively while Marko Anderson rounded out the double digit scorers with 10 points. Hakim Williams pulled down seven rebounds, six of which were defensive, to lead the team on the boards.

Illinois Wesleyan and Carthage have met once already this season and the Firebirds earned a 77-68 win on the road. The teams have a storied history, having met 140 times. THe Titans hold a commanding 110-30 lead in the all-time series.
