Iowa and Rutgers are battling to make the Big Ten tournament as they meet on Wednesday night at Jersey Mike’s Arena in college basketball.

Rutgers (12-12) has struggled to a 5-8 record in Big Ten Conference play and is just above the cutoff line for a Top 15 spot in the league to qualify for next month’s conference college basketball tournament. On Wednesday, the Scarlet Knights welcome Iowa (13-10) to Jersey Mike’s Arena. The Hawkeyes have lost three straight to fall to 4-8 in the Big Ten and are 0-5 on the road this season. With the expansion of the Big Ten to 18 teams this season, the conference has opted to exclude the bottom three finishers from its tournament.
