Third-ranked Iowa State hits the road to take on a tough Colorado team in men’s college basketball.

The non-conference season is in the rearview mirror for fourth-ranked Iowa State (10-1) as it heads into Big 12 play against a brand new rival. The Cyclones take on Colorado (9-2) for the first time as a conference opponent after the Buffaloes left the now defunct Pac-12. The Cyclones are playing as well as any team in the country winners of seven straight games heading into this game. The only blemish on the Cyclones record this season is a two-point loss to then fourth-ranked Auburn in what might be the game of the year so far in college basketball. Since then they have been an offensive machine winning five of those seven games by double-figures.

This Cyclones offense has been unstoppable all season scoring 81 points or more in every game. They are fourth in the country averaging 88.5 points per game built around one of the most efficient attacks, shooting 51.3% overall as a team.

Seniors Keshon Gilbert and Curtis Jones are pacing the offense combining to score 32.5 points per game. Both transferred to the Cyclones after two seasons elsewhere and are having career-best seasons in their second years with the program.

Gilbert leads the team with 16.5 points and 5.2 assists per game on 54.5% shooting while Jones is averaging 16.0 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. Four other Cyclones are averaging double-figures with Milan Momcilovic (11.6 points per game), Joshua Jefferson (11.5 points per game), Dishon Jackson (11.0 points per game) and Tamin Lipsey (10.1 points per game) all contributing.
