However, they lost two straight conference games, opening up January with an even rougher loss at home against Kansas State by 19 points. Tamin Lipsey led the team with 20 points on 6-of-12 shooting, but the team’s leading scorer, Curtis Jones, who is averaging 18.1 points per game, had just 14 points and six rebounds. Only three players finished in double figures in that loss.

The Kansas Jayhawks are 15-6 overall this season and have fallen to 6-4 against teams in the Big 12, tied with BYU and Baylor in the conference. They are also three games back from Houston, the leader of the Big 12. They closed out January with a big win over UCF at home by four points. Zeke Mayo led the team with 24 points on 8-of-20 shooting. That came after the team lost to the conference leader in double overtime.

They opened in February, just a couple of days ago, against Baylor in Waco, Texas.
