Jackson State will look to add one more win to its tally on Saturday when the team plays Mississippi Valley State in the regular season.

The Jackson State Tigers travel to take on the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils in their final SWAC conference game of the regular season on Saturday afternoon at the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex. The Delta Devils have struggled this season and come into Saturday’s finale with an overall record of 3-27 and a conference record of 1-16. The team has lost eight games in a row with the most recent being a 72-64 loss to Alcorn State on Thursday. In the loss, Mississippi Valley was up 32-27 at halftime, but struggled to maintain the lead in the second half. Antonio Sisk led the scoring with 17 points and Alvin Stredic added 13 more to the scoreboard.

The Tigers are sitting in second place in the conference standings with an overall record of 13-17 and a conference record of 13-4. The team has won give games in a row with the most recent being a 76-69 victory over Arkansas Pine Bluff on Thursday. The Tigers jumped out to a 20-point lead entering halftime and were able to maintain that through the second half. In the win, Daeshun Ruffin led the offense 20 points and Jayme Mitchell Jr. came off the bench to finish right behind him with 19 points. On the season, Ruffin leads the team with 15.3 points per game while Romelle Mansel leads the team in rebounds with 7.0 per game. 

The last meeting between the two programs took place a month ago and Jackson State won handily in a 92-44 victory. Jackson State has won the last four meetings between the programs.
