Saint Louis (11-7) bounced back from its first Atlantic 10 Conference loss with a victory on Saturday and takes a 4-1 conference record into Wednesday night’s visit from La Salle (10-8) at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis in college basketball. The Explorers come in off a loss that dropped them to 2-3 in conference play. The Billikens last played in the NCAA tournament in 2019 and made an appearance in the 2022 NIT. La Salle’s last March Madness bid came in 2013.

Saint Louis trailed by seven with 4:43 left before storming back to win 63-59 at Richmond on Saturday afternoon. Robbie Avila pumped in 24 points and Isaiah Swope added 11. Avila scores 18.3 points per game, Gibson Jimerson nets 17.8 points a night and Kalu Anya averages 7.8 points and 9.4 rebounds.

The Explorers took an 82-60 thumping on Sunday afternoon at UMass, shooting just 35.3 percent. Deuce Jones led the attack with 17 points and Daeshon Shepherd knocked down 12. Corey McKeithan leads the team at 15.9 points per game, Shepherd gets 11.7 points an outing and Demetrius Lilley averages 8.5 points and 7.1 boards.

The Billikens are 24-11 against La Salle all-time and have won the last six meetings, including a 102-84 win in Philadelphia on Feb. 7.
