Des Watson and Loyola-Chicago will take the court against A10 rival Nate Santos and Dayton on Saturday.

Loyola-Chicago will travel to Dayton, Ohio, on Saturday afternoon in a men’s college basketball showdown in the Atlantic 10 Conference. There, they will take on Dayton at UD Arena. The Dayton Flyers are 11-6 overall this season and were once ranked in the AP Top 25 after beating Marquette and lost it after losing to Cincinnati. They are1-3 now since the start of conference play just above winless Fordham in the conference. They have dropped all their game since the turn of the year, starting with George Washington by 20 points.

It continued on the road against UMass, this time by only four points. Earlier this week, they dropped a game by eight points to George Mason, the conference leader, at home. Nate Santos leads Dayton in scoring this season. The senior forward is averaging 14.8 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. Enoch Cheeks is averaging 12.4 points and a team-high 6.8 rebounds per game.

The Loyola-Chicago Rambles are also 11-6 overall this season, but their losses mostly came outside of the A10 because they have a 2-2 record against conference teams, tied with the middle of the pack. They lost January’s opening game by almost 20 points against VCU before going on the road and beating La Salle by 11 points led by 20 point night from Jayden Dawson.

They stayed on the road and lost to Saint Joseph’s by almost 40 points before coming home earlier this week and beating Rhode Island by four points on the back of a 21-point night from Des Watson. The senior guard leads Loyola in scoring this season, averaging 12.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game.
