The LSU Tigers will travel to Lexington on Tuesday night for their penultimate regular season game against the No. 17 Kentucky Wildcats at Rupp Arena. The Tigers are currently in 15th place in the conference standings with an SEC record of 3-13 and an overall record of 14-15. The team has lost three games in a row with the most recent being an 81-69 defeat by No. 24 Mississippi State on Saturday. Cam Carter led the Tigers’ offense with 23 points, while Daimion Collins joined him in double figures with 10 points. Dji Bailey pulled down six rebounds to lead on the boards and added seven points to the scoreboard. The team shot for 39 percent from the field, but struggled from long range, going 9-for-26 from beyond the arc.

The Wildcats may be ranked 17th in the nation, but they are sitting in 10th place in the standings amongst a group of highly competitive teams. Kentucky comes into Tuesday night’s game with an overall record of 19-10 and a conference record of 8-8. On Saturday, the team played top-ranked Auburn, falling in a 94-78 defeat. Koby Brea scored 21 points to lead the team’s offense, while Andrew Carr finished right behind with 20 points. Lamont Butler added 15 to the scoreboard and Amari Williams rounded out the double digit scorers with 13 points, but the team still came up short. Williams was the only Wildcat to earn a double-double by adding 14 rebounds to the stat sheet.

The last meeting between Kentucky and LSU took place last season and resulted in a narrow 75-74 win for the Tigers at home in Baton Rouge.
