Minnesota, the last winless team in Big Ten play, hits the road on Monday to face Maryland
Minnesota (8-8) is the last winless team remaining in the Big Ten Conference with an 0-5 mark. On Monday, the Golden Gophers visit Maryland (12-4), coming off a win its last time out, at the Xfinity Center in College Park. The Terrapins missed the postseason in 2024 after playing in the 2023 NCAA tournament while Minnesota reached the second round of the NIT last spring and made its last March Madness visit in 2019. Maryland comes into Monday’s game with a 2-3 mark in Big Ten play.

The Terrapins last played on Friday, pulling away in the second half for a 79-61 win over visiting UCLA. Ja’Kobi Gillespie went off for 27 points while Julian Reese finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Derek Queen gets 15.5 points per game, with Gillespie scoring 13.9 points a night and Reese averaging 13.2 points and 8.8 boards.
The Golden Gophers saw their game on Friday get away from them after intermission in an 80-59 loss at Wisconsin. Dawson Garcia went for 22 points and 10 rebounds but was the lone player on the roster in double figures. Garcia averages 18.4 points and 7.3 boards while Mike Mitchell Jr. puts up 11.9 points per game.
Maryland is 16-3 all-time in the series but lost last season’s lone meeting 65-62 at Minnesota on Jan. 7, 2024. Kevin Willard is 50-34 in his third season coaching the Terrapins while Ben Johnson has a 49-62 record in his fourth year with the Gophers.
