They ended January on a three game losing streak, getting taken down by Iowa at home by one point, Michigan on the road by four points, and Ohio State at home by 19 points. Their last win was against Rutgers at home by eight points. Ace Baldwin Jr leads the team in scoring this season. The senior guard is averaging 14.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, and a team-high 7.8 assists per game this season through 21 appearances.

The Minnesota Golden Gophers are clinging to a .500 record this season at 11-11 overall. However, they have fallen to just 3-8 against teams in the Big Ten Conference this season. After a massive upset over former No. 15 Oregon at home, they closed out January with a loss to the conference-leading Michigan State by 22 points on the road.

They opened up February at home last weekend and lost on Saturday to Washington by just two points. Former Tar Heel Dawson Garcia dropped 28 points in a game-high performance on 9-of-12 shooting from the floor. He also grabbed four rebounds and dished out four assists. Femi Odukale was the only other player in double figures with 10 points in the loss.
